This line of Barbie dolls as re-imagined by famous fashion designers includes Oscar de la Renta, Bob Mackie, Byron Lars, Vera Wang, and, now Katiana Jimenez, (who actually won a Barbie doll-designing contest while in fashion school). The doll is similar to her peers only in stature--the standard 12 inches. Otherwise, she is Jimenez's own idea of fantasy-inspired beauty: exotic, earthy, and warm. She wears a globally-inspired ensemble, featuring a long, pleated, eggplant-and-violet skirt and contrasting metallic halter. Real beadwork on the halter and strong gold jewelry accents, such as large hoop earrings and a wrap-around arm bracelet, lend a worldly flair. Her dark hair and warm skin tone are accented by subtle highlights, and the rich hues of her make-up. --Diane Beall
